What is contentment?
I don't remember everything I was taught, but part of it is accepting what you have now and being grateful for it. The symbol for contentment is the tiger. The tiger is present in the now. He sees that the now can have rough spots, but he steps over those and keeps going. Mindfulness is an important concept related to being content. It is fully being present now, which is something I cannot be while being distracted by a cell phone. Or I could say the moment of being fully present with the words on the cell phone is the now. I have far less now than I had in the past yet I feel more content about it, so this really works. Dialectical behavioral therapy helped. I still get depressed or feel sad, but it isn't as severe.
